Hi, new to the forum. My girlfriend and I are attempting to go first time skiing this year but the soonest we can both book leave from work is 06/04/07 so we'd be spending about a week off somewhere.
My question is where would still have snow at that time of year?
I'm unsure so all suggestions and advice would be appreciated.

Hi, the last 4 or 5 years april has had one of the best snow of the season, so you should be ok. Due to unusual weather this year, it's hard to say, but we should have a late winter, so april should be fine. You have to search for high resorts though (Tignes, Val d'Isere, Les Arcs...).

Last year we still had over 60 cm of snow at village level and over 2 metres at altitude. In fact there was still snow at village level in June. La Rosiere is the place for April skiing, it's open until the 27th April and April skiing is often the best of the season, long sunny days and if you find some spring snow it's a bonus. We were in La Plagne last April, and it chucked it down with snow every night, was amazing !!!!

We can offer you accommodation with airport transfers etc at our catered chalet i the French Pyrenees. Station usually stay open til the end of April so you should find some good skiing with us.

April has been the best skiing of the season for the last couple of years in Val d'Isere. I was in Val d'Isere from 1st-8th April last winer on Base Camp Group's Freestyle Camp and we were skiing powder everyday.
Base Camp also offer weekly and monthly accommodation for April in Val d'Isere and Whistler starting at £150 per person for the week
