From what I remember 2008 was awful everywhere, or was that 2007 I get mixed up. We had the animal pros staying whose home resorts (Cham and Morzine) weren't even open yet.
Unfortunatly the weather can make or break your holiday and is not so easy to predict at the time of booking a holiday.
Saalbach has great snowmaking faciliys and management but of course this is useless if it's too warm and raining, but compared to other resorts in this area there is always a higher % of pistes and lifts open.
