+1 from me for La Thuile. Cheap if you stay in the apartments, Plannibel. Nice learner slope right outside the hotel and easy blues higher up. A cable car back down from the higher slopes, perfect.

I personally don't rate dry slopes, much better conditions on indoor snowdomes. But you will learn in resort with good English speaking instructors.

By the way, skiing is quite addictive once you start!!! Just wish i could afford to go more often!
