Yeesh, I only wanted some noob skier advice.
I live and work in Chamonix. My accommodation and food is included with my job.
I've been here about 12 weeks.
I can get limited free ski instruction, but I don't like to mooch too much.
But thank you for your keen interest in my life.

But don't forgeet you are now a resident expert on Chamonix - hope you'll answer all the questions as they come up during the winter.

Well it is interesting!! More interesting than my dull existence. I never had the chance to live and work in Chamonix when I was young as I was too busy working and rubbish like that.
Enjoy the season, and I hope your skiing improves as much as you hope. I would advise,as have others, that you start off on the right foot, or feet, and get lessons. Its more difficult to iron out problems further down the line.

NellyPS wrote:Ooo lucky you! I spent two winters and a summer in Chamonix, it's where I learnt to ski, didn't have a single lesson but I do regret that, so perhaps a good starting point.
I was pretty competent by the end of the first season, and obviously improved even more by the end of the second (despite a knee injury which took a month or so out of my season).
And PLEASE make sure you do the Vallee Blanche once you're confident enough, I'm ashamed to say I didn't do it, in fact do it twice, once for me  -)
Don't believe the false modesty - Nelly is more than competent, whether on one plank or two.....
