Just to add a couple of my own observations that show potential dangers at the chair lift. First, there are the times we see the father carry his two year old child to the loading line. If the child is too small or too inexperienced to get to the line under their own steam ....maybe they shouldn't be there in the first place?? It is moving machinery after all. And the second observation is when the kids in the line really don't seem to want to be there. Their inattention speaks to this. Their minds are off in other places and the lift attendant has to coax them to the line. Again there is heavy machinery in motion and lack of attention to their surroundings is as much a danger to them as it is an annoyance to others who want to get up the hill. Ahhhh there is little better than posting to a ski site forum with near 30°C outside!
