I think as a nation we need to stop treading on egg shells and force overweight people to accept that there lifestyle choice is gonna cost them more.

Or perhaps airlines should set a standard weight of 150kg per ticket and then allow you to 'sell' back part of your allowance thus reducing your ticket price.



I'm surprised airlines haven't started doing it already. With competition at an all time high between airlines, and big holiday companies dropping like flies, it's a huge selling point imo.

If a travel company told me I'd only be paying for my "baggage", and not subsidising someone who has an unhealthy obsession with waffles and apple turnovers, it's a no brinier.

Well said smokey Barr, saw someone once across the aisle unable to the get seatbelt around their enormous waist so they stewardess had to get an extension and clip it on for him. I bet he didn't pay for weighing at least an extra 12Kg's where by I have to pay £50 for the privilege.

It was a poor rant, considering my anger levels at the moment (few and far between but when they come, look out).
