Skiers need to be more aware of financial protection offered by chalet operators, many have had a tough time since 2008, I suspect many more chalet companies will go bust.
NEVER BOOK a holiday with a company that isn't ABTA, TTA or holds an ATOL licence.
I can't image how you would feel if you had to tell your mates the chalet holiday they booked and paid for now wasn't happening and worse still you can't have your money back!

on the one hand I think the heads up is valuable - on the other I think that promoting yourself whilst doing so is spam

Oh dear that's very bad news :(
I have insurance through the Ski club of GB and it covers me for 'end supplier failure' so I don't have to worry about businesses going bust when I book a DIY holiday for myself.
I thought credit card companies also cover you for this, if you pay with a credit card? Or have I got it wrong?

I've booked with either igluski or Skiline the last 5-6 years for exacrly this reason.
Plus I've managed to get a good discount using them normally.
I dont think Angus is spamming.
His name is too well known in the industry to be that daft.
He has a point about the protection offered against meltdown and people should really take note.
