Hi, anybody selling a good quality double ski bag?
Me and the girlfriend have just got brand new skis (we are so excited!!!!!) so we are looking for a good ski bag that will keep our precious little babies nicely wrapped up and safe from the baggage handlers.
Would preferably be looking for a padded and wheeled bag. Longest skis are 163cm.

Skied: On snow, On water, On mud, On slush, On ice. Oh, and on a few dry slopes.

Hi Doug

Great news, new skis.

My honest advice is not to buy a ski bag but buy a ski tube (look on the internet, Snow & Rock etc.). The baggage handlers, most times, just hurl your skis out of the back of the plane and a bag gives very little protection (broken bindings are not that uncommon). The cost of transporting your tube is the same as a bag and they come with wheels and can be secured with a padlock. More expensive than a ski bag but totally effective. Good luck.

My advice would be don't buy a double bag, they're very heavy and IMO you're better off with one each, pack your ski kit around the bindings / tips etc. I have a double ski bag that is wheeled, padded and reinforced at the tips and tails and a lot of airlines are putting a 12kg weight limit on ski kit so a couple of times my ski bag has been overweight, fortunately the friends we travel with have always been under so as a group we've been under :)
I would have got away with it if it wasn't for those pesky kids!

I have a Big Air double ski bag, a really good bag triple padded, and a bargain at £30 a few years back. However, having carted 2 pairs of skis a couple of times, I definitely dont recommend it. Plus many airlines now impose a weight limit and 2 pairs of skis would put that over. I still use the double bag, but just put my own skis in a shed load of outdoor clothing, never weighs more than the 15kg limit that now appears to be coming into force.
Some airlines may ask you to open your bag and charge you per pair of skis and not per bag. MAY being unlucky of course.

How come? It's a set £35 return if I remember correctly, giving you a more than generous 15kg???
