I might be up for it in January in France as I aim to drive out and do 2/3weeks in different resorts..I'm quite flexible as a retired old f..t and don't mind sharing...

Thanks very much Ian :D

Things are looking quite promising at the moment. Watch this space ...

I'm sorry you can't come on our trip, but very impressed that Little W will be taking her Gold exam. There's no way I'd pass that test - it's really tough.

Thanks OldAndy for your support. I'm sorry you can't come with us  It looks like it's going to be a great holiday :D

Tony - if you want to come send me a pm and I'll give you all the details of what we've decided so far. Otherwise, you'll have to wait until I've sorted out everyone that has said they're coming. But don't worry - there should be spare room in the chalet for late-comers :D

Kinda have to agree with Tony on his last post.

For me i am disappointed Cham didn't win out as its somewhere i would like to go but fear i won't because the family wouldn't enjoy it as much as other resorts.

I'll do Tignes if its in march, I'm away already at new year and feb so won't be able to go in Jan.
I'll want to know who is attending too. No disrespect to anyone but i am a 30 something fast skier and i would want to ski with like minded and able people.

And i don't want to share my room.

And i want to fly from East midlands.

Skied: Arinsal, La Plagne, Alpe D'huez, Flaine, Les Arcs, Morzine, Les Gets, Avoriaz, Sauze, Courchevel, Val Thorens

I'm sorry about that Snapzzz

Never mind - maybe we can organize another group holiday the following year?

I don't think it is too bad ..... Half is technique and the other half is a Slalom which they have to complete in 39 sec's or under, looks like I will be spending my ski hols on the Slalom course :D

I am genuinely interested..but (!) we (myself, wife and 2 children) are skiing Val d"isere and Tignes at New Year. I don't think I would necessarily want to go to Tignes again in the same season, especially if it ends up being a January trip.....There are lots of other places on my list (including Chamonix). To be honest, having experienced both VDI and Tignes, I would choose VDI every time as a base. Skiing is great in both resorts but Val d'Isere town is much more pleasant (and expensive!)

Regarding dates early Feb was our initial target for a 2nd holiday.

However, if it ends up being Tignes in March and we have skied twice by then and we have enough skiing disposable income left then it could be feasible. I know there are a few ifs and buts in the preceding sentence but at least we are very flexible regarding taking time off for holidays.

I'm a fairly new "j2skier" but I think a j2ski trip would be great fun. As snapzzz has said, ability levels and aspirations will differ and a good mix of people is probably fairly critical.

I'll keep a close eye on progress....
slippy slidey snow......me likey!

You'd have had a PM from me if I was interested Ally. Which means you are correct in assuming I am not.

Personally I like to choose who I ski with and where I go. Arranging for Mrs H to meet some people I got to know on an internet forum took enough doing, but asking her to go on a holiday with people I have never met before would be an impossible task. We don't ski separately you see. Like Snapzzz, I'd want to know who's attending as well.

Anyway, Tignes is not on my list of places to ski right now. Its bleak and in France. And busyish. And expensive.

Plus I will be going away myself in January with a smallish group.

After the trouble you've taken this far, I hope something comes off in the end, but I have to say I have my doubts that it ever will.
