Have a great time Andy, just think about all the money you are saving whilst under canvas and that you may be able to afford yet another ski trip this season

Topical camping joke.

Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson are on a camping trip. In the middle of the night, Holmes wakes Watson and asks him what he thinks as he looks up.

"Well", says Watson as he gazes up, "as I see all those thousands and thousands of stars, I have to wonder that there must be thousands and thousands of planets, and I guess that somewhere out there are some other intelligent beings. What do you think about my dear Holmes?"

"I think," replies Holmes, "that some bastard has stolen our tent!"

Anyway, as Icy would say NEW TOPIC

A level choice day tomorrow for our eldest daughter. It's been a tricky decision, especially with groupings but we seem to have got there. Looking like art, music, french and psychology. Bit worried about the last one......think I could be a 'subject' before too long.

Anyone else in this particular boat at the moment. Suddenly dawned on us that she could on her way to Uni in less than 3 years.

BB,
What does your daughter want to study at uni? Or doesn't she know?

I have been in the same position as you, twice, but both my daughters (eventually) got to uni.

A year off is sometimes a good idea, before uni, because it's awfully hard for the poor kids to know what they want to do - a lot of their choices seem to be more about being taught by a teacher they like rather than about eventual jobs and careers.

She's got it all mapped out. Working as a chalet host/behind a bar in a French ski resort for the ski season after A levels. A short art foundation course, then a degree in art (illustration), then fame and fortune. Sorted!!

My daughter picked Biology, Geography, Food and Nutrition and Business Studies........ then when we got home she decided she didn't like Biology.

I think there are a lot of trips with Geography and Business Studies! It's going to be an expensive 2 years!!
I can see my house from here...
