Just back from a site visit to discover my digital camera sat on top of the car roof.
I managed to drive 50 miles with it sliding in between the roof bars.
I wondered what the clonking noise was.......

Makes sense. We've never had any kind of sky/cable connection. Just freeview and freesat here. I'd spend too much time watching sport!
Just the wife's food then?

Bedrocky Barney - my Mum has lost lots of handbags (and cups of tea) like that - it's a good thing you've got plenty of bars on your roof rack!
Well, I've done it. I've cancelled my basic Sky subscription which was costing me £22 p.m. so I will save £264 per year - which will be enough to buy me a week's ski pass and a week's supply of hot chocolate at lunch time and elevenses on my next ski holiday :D

I'm amazed the camera didn't fall off but it is a large and very robust SLR type camera circa 8 years old which meant it is large enough not to slide underneath the bars. My wife gave me a funny look when I told her about it on my return. (ie, the kind of look that suggested that perhaps she should book me to the Doctor's for a check on my brain function.....) :-)

Bugger. I've just had an email from our chalet operator wanting the balance of the payment for our New Year holiday. I'd forgotten to put a note in my diary. No food this month.

Bedrock Barney - funnily enough I'd been thinking about starting off a topic on this thread about what everyone would be willing to cut back on so that they could still afford to go ski-ing - but I think no food for a month is going a bit far
