Brooksy, any insurer will look for a way to limit their payout-any way they can. I used to use quite an expensive ski insurer, Snowcard. In line with their policy requirements I told the company that a consultant was sending me for an MRI scan to confirm his opinion.
Snowcard responded rather rapidly to this info by withdrawing cover for (a) knee, saying that they had spoken to their Underwriter. Snowcard were not even prepared to wait for the consultant to view the results, which turned out to be exactly what the consultant had expected and age related. The consultant advised doing nothing, Snowcard were slow to reinstate cover, and I contemplated driving the results letter to their office, and stapling it somewhere. I've skied about 80 days since then and I've not been back to Snowcard, their loss.

Thanks for the reply Bandit & this is what I would expect insures to
say, either no cover or a loaded premium.
As posted I do not have a diagnosis from the hospital only from a private pyhsio & with no ongoing treatment from the pysio, only instructed me to carry out the exercises she recommended.
If I don't tell them they may not cover me for any situation in the event of a claim, if I do tell them they may refuse cover & where I live shopping around for other insurers is not an option, sort of a catch 22 scenario.
I am still hopeful others have had a previous experience & will share their thoughts.
Thanks for that Bandit & I looked at their T & Cs.
Only uk, channel islands & isle of man apply.
Only preconditions covered are those that have been officially diagnosed.
Information on any disease or injury in the last 2 years must be given when applying for cover.
If you are waiting for test results you cannot be insured until results are finalised.
What I have written is not word for word but the meanings are correct.
As they formed this company to help people with difficulties getting insured & they would not insure me on all counts I think I will be hard pressed to get cover with there being only one insurer at my disposal.
I wonder how many others do not know about the full requirements & would be adversely affected in the event of a claim.

Brooksy, it might be worth talking to these folks, even if they can't cover you as you are not UK resident, they may know someone who can offer a similar service.
