AlistairS wrote:Jastem, I think its safe to get your skis prepared and packed with your poles. Check your boots etc. If you don't have your own kit and rent you could start to pack an item a day :D

Ian, yes it makes sense to DIY, you get the satisfaction of doing a good job and your wallet remains bulging. Perhaps you could run a ski maintainace course for us. Now where's that Iron :D

There is plenty of good tuition on the internet ..... just put "How to service your skis" into the search engine, Bingo.
Once you get the knack you will never go back to the shops.

Ian, good idea with four skiers in my family. I will have a search around and get back to you over the next few days. I think, off the top of my head, I will need wax different types for snow and temp conditions, Iron, scraper and file for the edges. There is also something to fill scratches before waxing. If I get stuck, can I PM you for advise?

Wax wise Universal will do ..... you have no need to get too technical.
Get me a shout if you get stuck.

Well I am edging ever closer to under 50 days.
54 to be exact.
Looks like we might be able to practise in the UK this week if Michael Fish is correct.
