Hi, we're due to fly to Bansko for a weeks skiing on Monday 4th April but have just heard a rumour that the lifts are closing early for the season the 3rd April. Can anyone confirm this? Feel completely gutted at the moment as all flights and transfers and car parking is already booked and paid for

It's not a package holiday, I've arranged flights, transfers and accomodation seperately myself

Hi Superduke_Chris,
I had a look just now, for you, on the Bansko tourist board website, and they seem to think there are some FIS races going on from 4th to 10th April, in Bansko itself.
So, maybe the rumour is wrong? Was that you, asking about it on the bulgariaski website, and being given an offer of transport to Borovets each day? Have you tried e-mailing the Bansko tourist board?

I hope the lifts do still open, and you get to ski :D
I do DIY as well, and the lack of protection for this sort of thing does worry me a bit

Even in a good snow year I would not book Bulgaria in April
Have a look at this link in the morning

Thanks folks. Yes it was me on the bukgariaski website, the transport to Borovets each day is certainly an option, although I expect it will be over an hour each way so it's not something we would do every day. At least its an option we didn't know about a a day ago and we have the opportunity to get some skiing in, even if it's not all week.
Obviously we knew there was a real snow risk booking for this late in the season, but my wife and I have had our main ski holiday this season in Chatel and this was an opportinity to get a last quick trip in at a low price, and take the kids with us. It's cost us less than £250 each for flights, accomodation and transfers.
