From Whitedot Skis on Twitter:

Please do remember to lock up your skis when you stop; 2 Whitedot Redeemers stolen in Chamonix yesterday so be vigilant!

This is what they look like:

I think they would be a bit big for me (and lots of folks) Many friends (and some ex-friends) have taken the p1ss out of me for locking my skis up over the years.

If those Redeemers were lifted by anyone other than a cliff jumping, deep powder expert, their attempts to ski on them should be easy to spot

Eastern European (sorry, but they are) ski thieves hitting hotels in Austria and stealing skis from the ski rooms of hotels...

Hi bandit

I bought new skis this season, Volant Platinum (I had skiied on hired ones for the last two seasons and love them:)) A bit concerned about this thieving business, can you advise on what sort of locks to get for my new babies??

thanks

Carol

Hi Carol

Volant's are very desirable, and rather nice 8) I would consider something like this:

which will slip into your pocket. They are very convenient though the casings tend to be the weak spot on these type of locks. If you want something more substantial, take a look around for a coated steel cable about 1.5 to 2 metres long looped on each end, for adding your own padlock, or one with a combination like this.

Not really pocket sized, though a bit more secure. Hope these give you some ideas.

Carol,
Wouldnt bother with the 'first' one in bandits post; its so weak it wouldn't stop any one from nicking your babies; The second one is the type of thing you should be using.

The little retractable locks are the most common. This is something new to me, from a reputable mfr, and it's on the Facewest site.
