Hi

What can you expect to pay for a pint of beer in France, for example in La Tania.

I've been scared off France in the past from stories of pints costing £6-8

We are group that will stay in a catered chalet and will make the most it, but would like to out on the town a few nights

thanks

I think you should be able to get a standard pint of beer for around €6 in most ordinary bars. However, any special beers will bring up the price. If you hit any late night spots, the price can rocket with prices of €10 or more not being unusual.

Average price for a pint across France is 6 euros from experience. You might find some happy hour bars 4-6 for example where you will get 2 for 1 or something similar.

On our chalet holidays, we have had a couple of beers straight off the slopes, then headed back to the chalet to cane the free wine, and also bought in our own beers from the supermarket to have when the tight chalet hosts tell you they've stopped serving free wine (Rocketski did this, Skiworld just let us abuse the wine 24/7).
We all like a drink, but find that once we're at the chalet, we really can't be arsed with going out again, although we do usually manage this on the first night in resort.
Card games tend to come into play after dinner, along with a crate of 24 bottles for 13 euros, much better than 2 pints for the same price IMO.

We stayed La Tania a couple of seasons ago, like the gys say if you hit the happy hours, enjoy the free wine at the chalet with dinner then the 6 Euro a pint isn' to bad when your only fit for a couple more .
