Ok, let me explain! It is common knowledge on here that I suffer from MS and there lies the conundrum! Last year I was very ill and could barely walk, never mind ski. It wasn't pretty! But I am now doing ok and am itching to go skiing again but need a slightly different holiday.

The last three years I have gone to Zell am See and now want a new expeience, but still in Austria. Basically I get very tired so need easy skiing! Lots of easy, wide runs that require very little effort for me to get to! The resort has to have things going on so I can still enjoy myself even if I don't do much skiing. Oh, and the hotel needs to be good too- for the same reasons!

Not a big ask at all!! In the past I went to a resort which was so bad and an utter waste of money. This has made me a bit nervous of trying somewhere I don't know. Hoping you guys can help!

Thanks! :D Sue

Hiya Sue, have a look at Seefeld that fits your criteria perfectly. Plenty to do and see if you can not ski.
I'm a laydee

Hi Rose! The only concern with Seefeld is the low altitude. But is this relevant? I also forgot to say that I find drag lifts- well a drag!! I fare much better on gondolas and chair lifts. I am not at all lazy- honestly!

Obergurgl might suit. High altitude village, lots of spa hotels, wide open cruising runs, gondolas and chair lifts.

Obergurgl- I have heard it is expensive. But I have never had a cheap skiing hol anyway! The one thing I have learnt over the last couple of years is that anything is possible- it just might need a bit of tweaking! Good advice in all areas of life really. I know I can go skiing again. But I will chose my resort a bit more carefully. I will check out Obergurgl- so thanks!

Thanks Daved- will check it out. I have checked the flight times from Newcastle and if I fly into Innsbruck I wouldn't be able to collect my ski gear until the following day. But flying via Salzburg means a ridiculously early start but you are in resort by lunchtime. A bit shallow but I have to make life easy! I know very little about Obertauern- has anybody experience of the resort??

I am also beginning to look at Switzerland so if I can open the same topic for there in the Austria forum? The ski school hours are much shorter so makes more sense really. But I need a relatively short transfer by coach to resort. Me- finickety! Nooooo!!!

Hi Sued,
I agree with Bandit. Obergurgl is very good if you're not feeling too strong. We went there when my older daughter was pretty ill with ME and she managed to ski a bit. I booked a balcony room in the Crystal hotel so that when she wasn't well enough to ski she could at least look at the skiers coming down the red run in front of the hotel. It's got really luxurious lifts as well, and most of the hotels have hot pools or spas or whatever. But I don't know about the night life. We just went to bed after supper!

But it is expensive.

I'm glad you're feeling a bit better. Long may it last :D
