Hi everyone! Hoping to get some ideas on where to start to look at Austrian ski resorts...
Our list will be cut drastically by us wanting to be able to stay on a mountain that requires no bus travel to get to and from our accomodation and the ski slopes. Where we ski in Australia we ski up to the door of our ski resort and we really love being able to do that :D
Aprés-Ski is also a very high priority!
We are not expert skiiers by any means, but love to have a go then have some fun at the end of the day
Cheers...

Probably should start a new thread, because the more I read, the more confused I become....you guys have sooooo many choices
I mentioned that I didn't want to travel via bus to get to the slopes...that is correct...but, gondola travel does appeal a tad more :D
Am I right in thinking that some resorts have gondola transport from town to the slopes? Does this sound better than it is in reality?
Sigh...Everything will be all booked out by the time I've done my research and decided...

If Apres Ski is a priority then I'd recommend looking at St Anton and Ischgl - both are brilliant party towns (the Mooserwirt and Krazy Kanguruh in St Anton are especially legendary). You might be more likely to have a bus ride in St Anton, but it depends where you stay - it is possible to be a short walk from a lift if you pick the right accommodation. If you want chalets, St Anton is the way forward, Ischgl is pretty much all hotels. I'm sure you'd enjoy either though...

Hiya,
Me and a few friends are heading out to Niederau on the 29th January 2011 and i always find this resort to be lively enough for me! The skiing is good, not too high altitude and not big queues for lifts! Bars for apres-ski normally open from 4pm till around 4/5am depending on how much of a party animal you are!!!
Would advise to look at niederau!!!
Cheers
