Hi all J2skiiers
I have just found out we get a week off in November for our Eid holidays here in UAE. We are not going skiing until Feb this year so was wondering if there was any resort that we could go to that would have some snow on 14th November???? We do not really want to wait until Feb
We will be 2 adults and 3 kids all reasonable skiiers/boarders and ski mainly Austria but are open to all suggestions.
thanks

Zermatt will be open for skiing, it is now. I've skied there in early November, and there was not too much mileage, but enough )
Otherwise, Hintertux is likely a good bet.
Thanks Tino, I read your blog on Hintertux - very nice - and thought that was an option
I like oom pah pah music :)

In my opinion, Hintertux is the better glacier, however ther is not a lot going on unless you want Helmut aus Mallorca for 6 nights
If you have a full week, head for Switzerland, Zermatt and Saas Fee are prety much equidistant from Visp. Stay in both a copule of nights, they both have there own charm, with Saas Fee being the prettier and Zermatt being the more cosmipolitian. Saying that, Saas Fee is earning a rep as a boarders resort.
Indications from Zermatt are that the Matterhorn side will open relatively early this year, they are busy building the piste to Trockner Steg (I saw the snow machine in operation yesterday. They are expecting about 20-30cm snow tonight, unfortunately I am back in Germany

Thanks guys for all the tips
Plans for November now on hold as OH has just told me he has to work as the Louis Vuitton Cup (sailing event for those who don't know ) is coming to Abu Dhabi and he is heavily involved in marine here. Looks like I am stuck at home with the kids
Roll on Feb - we are off to Oberlech and Kitz for 2 weeks
