Thanks a lot.

How long is short? I would fly to Geneva, then a little more than one hour by road will get you to Chamonix or Morzine.

Go to the J2ski.com and you can search by distance to airport.

There are many resorts within an hour drive of Geneva, most ski resorts will have a variety of marked walks just depends on where you would like to go.

Chamonix is an hour by car and easily reached by a variety of transfer companies (e25 eachway approx). I would go there if I did not ski as there is loads to do other than skiing!

The Massif du Sancy is 1 hr drive from Clermont-Ferrand Airport and has great snowshoeiing possibilities. Information can be found on www.sancy.com

Le Mont-Dore - where we live - also can be reached bij train in about 7 hrs from London St. Pancras.
