British Airways is extending its route network from London City Airport this winter with a new route to Chambery, the gateway to the French Alps.
"The service, by BACityFlyer, the wholly subsidiary of British Airways, will operate four times a week from 18th December until the end of March 2011, using the airline's fleet of brand new Embraer 190 aircraft, " British Airways informs.

AIUI the ongoing dispute is with BASSA members, which are allied to UNITE. The only site definitely not affected is BA's Gatwick base, whose staff accepted the new working practices quite a while ago.

Why? Have you booked flights via Chambery Snapzzz? I think it would be okay if you were with a TO because they'd sort out the transfers if you got diverted, but I think it could be a problem if you were going DIY.

Interesting, though I'm not looking at any BA services this winter, after last season's repeated fiasco. They still have a labour dispute to settle.

Isn't Chambery the airport that shuts quite often in winter because of the weather, and you get diverted to somewhere else?
