I can't post this on the thread started by Admin, so I'll say it here. It's weird that the lift company won't allow skiers to ride the funicular during the week.
It certainly puts me off going. It's not surprising that many Scottish skiers are well equipped for touring, as they'll need to skin or hike up.

I tried posting on a news thread a while ago and it needed approval?! AFAIK it wasn't 'approved'...
Bit of a joke really, surely the trains aren't running full? Can't imagine it would be too much extra hassle to make a made station stop on the way up, they wouldn't even have to make it on the way back!
Looks like they must have made enough money !!!!!!!
Should be ok to reply there now... we appear to have had a glitch!

Why wouldn't the train make a stop every return trip? One extra stop wouldn't make much, if any, difference to operational cost.

You're right Brucie. One of the reasons I have avoided giving them any of my money this season.

It may be a fair guess that if you allow skiers onto the funicular, then you are contracted to provide the full first aid/ambulance/recovery/doctor/mountain service, that is over and above normal moutain service. In addition to this, ski school, ski hire, car park, etc. It is uneconomic. It has happened to me in Europe.
If you elect to skin up, you are more of a mountaineer!!
