I want to take my 2 kids aged 10 and 12 for a skiing holiday next week. None of us has ever been or even tried on a pair of skis ! I have found 2 possible holidays - can anyone suggest which would be more suitable?
The first is with Club Med at Peissey vallandry - the second at Hotel Edelweiss at Obergurgl - the latter being much more expensive.
What's the quality of the ski tuition with either of these? Do we need lift passes? Shall I book the skis and tuition myself before we go - the Obergurgl one is non incluive of these.
Any help/suggestions would be really appreciated.
Thanks

Wherever you go, you are going to have to rely quite heavily on the reps for advice, as this is your first ski holiday.
I wouldnt want to put you off, but first ski holidays can be quite stressful when you dont know anything about the whole jing bang. And if you have children then it can be much worse.
My advice, and I have been involved in ski-ing for a long time, would be to plan for a ski holiday next YEAR and not next WEEK, and go with people who have been before, for support and advice when you get there.
Thyen again, if you are adventurous and independent, go for it!! I would choose Peisey, as that is part of the Les Arcs area, and the ski school will be good(albeit French!!).

I've been to Les Arcs and Obergurgl and I don't think you can go wrong with either.
As a first time trip I'd say the Club Med would be much easier for you as you'd get it all done for you. It can get very stressful and complicated if you do it yourself and don't quite know what you need. As beautiful as the Edleweiss in Obergurgl is and as great as the ski school is.
Maybe if can book your own tuition I would as New Generation in Vallandry come very highly rated.

I think he may have already made his choice somehow.
