What skis to get

Forget the skis for now, make sure your boots are the right size for you or get some new ones.
I think you need to get your head round the whole skiing thing before you worry about buying a shed load of gear.
Yep, sound advice 8)

Welcome to J2ski :D My suggestion to you is that you keep renting until you know what sort of skiing you are going to enjoy.
The double ended skis are called Twin Tips and they can usually be skied regular or switch (backwards)
Next time, book a rental package that allows you to swap skis as many times as you want during your trip. That way, you will start to learn what you prefer, without spending big money up front.

If you don't already own boots it is generally accepted that these should be the first purchase. You can hire/rent the latest skis but rental boots are nothing like your own. You will notice a fairly large difference in your skiing almost instantly.

My guess would be you may well have ended up with boots that are the wrong size if you had them for your first ever trip. I may be wrong.Grimski wrote:Already have a pair of boots got prior to going i was really unsure about boots as i didnt know what a whole day in them would be like but i was lucky as they are very comfitable i didnt hire ski as a friend of my brother lent me his
