I am basically just looking for any thoughts or suggestions you might have!
My ski history- Basically I've been skiing off and on for 15 years. I recently had a ski lesson to brush up on my skills or lack thereof :), and my instructor informed me that my current skis are not allowing me to go to the next level. They are a set of old Head C140s Lightning. I am unable to carve in them due to the fact that they have to much bend in them. Everytime I get up on my edges, they give out on me.
Now my question is...I was told that I am an Intermediate skier, who is just on the fence to becoming an advanced skier, so I bought a new pair of skis today, however I bought an intermediate pair. Now I am worried, that I am going to progress out of my skis in perhaps one season, and I am wondering if maybe I should have gone with a more advanced ski. I was told that the learning curve would be a little more difficult with the stiffer ski, but maybe it would have been worth it! Any comments or thoughts with regards to buying a more advanced ski before you are ready for it? Thank you! : ) The pair of skis I purchased were Rossignols Attraxion 3.
Did I buy the right level of ski?

The specs look very similar. The Rossi skis have an extra 4mm in the waist, which is better for general skiing. The sidecuts are of similar radius. You might want to compare the flex by bending the skis against your knee. It sounds likes like your instructor was saying you needed a stiffer ski, do the new skis feel stiffer ?
The reviews I skimmed through, seemed to suggest the Rossis are a better ski for groomer cruising. Do you think you have improved beyond your old skis, perhaps skiing more agressively, turning harder ?

Thanks so much for your reply! I checked, and the new ski is quite a bit stiffer, which is good! I am going to take some more lessons, and really learn to be more agressive in my turns! Thanks again!
