Hey people, just wondering if anyone here has skied the La Capa black run in Arinsal. I've never seen anyone ski it and haven't been good [stupid?] enough to try it myself but our group's progresseed quite a bit (hopefully in ability not just confidence!) and we're beginning to think we might give it a crack. Haven't done a black run before and was kind of wondering what to expect, as in is it a reall ball breaker or could you call it a 'difficult red' that's just been stuck on the map as a black run? We climbed/walked to the top in the summer on a motorbike trip so it'd be nice to have conquered it in both seasons.
Heading out Friday 29th for a week and can't wait! Glad to read there's been a bit more snow this week.

i skied that run a few times last year, its a strange button lift up to it, quite steep, but totally ok if your competent, i never saw anyone on it the 3 or 4 times i skied it, its not a really difficult black but it is a black run, ski it in the morning as it gets the sun (i think) i did it as a last run of the day and it was a bit icy. give it a go because its never busy which means if you dont like it you can do long traverses across the slope as it is pretty wide...

Dont get hung up on the fact it is labelled as a black. There is a way down any slope, and you just need to work it out for yourself.
Get up there on a good day weather-wise, have a good look at it, and then do it. Dont fanny about thinking about whether to do it or not.

I did most of the black runs in Andorra and don't remember any of them being really hard.
As tony said give it a go if you are a compitant skier you will be fine.

Cheers guys - I like that advice! I'm sure we'll crack it, just wanted to know if it had any nasty secrets that's all. 21 days and counting!

Be brave when u let yourself go, as they say face the danger and just get a nice controlled rythmn going. Job done. Easy on a key board isnt it. It is not to bad a run at all! )
