Hey peeps, been looking into some depth on getting myself another pair of skis (I got myself a pair last year, twintip freestyle skis - Dynastar Nothin' but Troubles) however, I feel I could do with a pair of more stiff skis so they don't flex and flap around so much at high speeds going down some nice piste runs.
Only problem is, I wish to keep twintips as I quite enjoy the scene of skiing backwards :)
So I was wondering, anyone ever owned/hired/tested the Salomon Lord's?
I can go on a test run in the Xscape at Braehead but the only problem is it isn't really any real-life testing because you're limited to going down the same slope of same decent and can't even go very fast, so it's pretty useless I guess.
I've read a lot of reviews of it being a good ski for anyone from intermediate to advanced, I do consider myself a progressing intermediate.
Just wanna know what anyone on here thinks :)
Thanks!
Salomon Lord skis..?

Yeh you are right. The Lords seemed to me to be a particularly common one last year though. Or maybe Lord owners are just more likely to post on the internet about their issues
depends what you want to do with them-if it is big long turns through crud, powder or on piste then maybe 181-185cm but if it is mainly for park then a bit shorter? see if you can try out a few different models and lengths and see for yourself-shorter and softer will feel "easier" and more fun but longer and stiffer will seem less fun but way more stable

So, you want twin tips that ski well on piste as well as around the park, eh?
Rossi Scratch Sprayer (and the various similar models they do), Scott Mission/Punisher (stiffer for piste skiing), Head Mojo might be worth a look too.
All a little different but check em out and see what you think.
Salomon Thruster also.

if you want something stiff dont get the sprayer-i own them and didnt like them as they flap about something shocking!!
the punisher is a soft ski too so id steer clear of that
really depends on your weight and ability-im a heavy SOB so i need a stiffer ski hence why i now have the MSP-try looking at the armada ARV, was a great ski when i demoed it last year
The K2 kung FUJAS comes in a 189cm which would be great-I demoed the one below that length indoor and it was brilliant
but in answer to your question, yes the lords are a stiff ski so maybe would be perfect. K2 Extreme is a "parkier" version of the FUJAS and is nice and stiff too

Thanks for the replies guys, just been having a look around and there are thousands of skis with thousands of differences between them and they all use words I don't really understand! haha, it's okay though..
Hmm, Tony.. I want to keep the twintip so I can do the odd jump here and there and ski backwards mainly.. I wouldn't go near rails with them, wouldn't want them scratched.. The current pair I have are for that :D
I have noticed the Mission/Punishers from Scott and their prices aren't too bad either - but at the end of the day we get what we pay for - Hence the Lord's being almost 500 quid.
One more small question - If I were to get the Lord's, what size would I be looking for? I'm 6'1, 15 stone in weight, progressing intermediate.. anyone know? :) My current skis are 176 i'm sure, they feel ok - perhaps a little bit too short sometimes, hard to judge as I haven't really had many different pairs of skis under my feet!

There have been a lot of stories with de-lamination on the Lords. Have a search for reviews elsewhere and you'll come across them.
