Hello!

I am going with my family in Les 2 Alpes for holidays (from 20th December) and I have seen that snow is pretty good for skiing. Has anybody else other information from LDA about the snow conditions?

I have seen the forecast and shows pretty good new snow in the next days too.

I have been checking the snow forecasts for about two months now - 3 or 4 times a day!

There seems to be a decent bas now even at resort level although a fair bit of freeze/thaw has happened this last week.

Good forecast for the next few days so you should be ok for the 20th..................please go easy though as I would like som snow left for Jan 10th!

I'm watching the webcams daily, my collegues at work seem to think I'm obsessed - ;)

The snow at the resort level is looking a bit thawed (as of Friday) but I just looked for today and it's snowing I think. 26th to the 2nd is when I'm there and I can't wait :)

We as a family went to Les Deux Alpes back in January this year. Plenty to do in this resort but you need to be an experienced skier/boarder to ski right back into the village. The resort is back-to-front with the more gentle slopes up the mountain and black runs down low and into the centre. Having said that, there is one narrow green run back home but this does get busy as it's the only easy route home without coming back down in the lift.
www  ...it's all downhill from here!

Very true, in fact I've ventured on reds at L2A only briefly - I don't consider myself anywhere near confident enough to touch either of the blacks into town. The lifts are good though and I didn't have to queue for any real length of time while I was there (Back in March/April) - the instructors all said the green track was boring so they spent most of their time with us nearer the top :) .

I agree, the green back to resort can be terrible.........narrow, busy and can get quite slushy. Last year (week 3 of my ski-ing career) I came back of the valentin black run - very scary first time but amazing every other time!

Me 11 year old usually (until Jan) skis back with me to the top of the last black, then comes back on the chair lift - 5 minutes and never busy on the way back

I did the Valentin back to resort this year. Scared the **** out of me - and it was in june, no snow :D
Just walking down it took me quite some time...there was a huge hole smack in the middle of it, about a third of the way down, looked like a well or something.
I walked up the green, and I can imagine it not being too pleasant if it's crowded when skiing.
It's looking good for LDA so far this year, and there's so much skiing at altitude there that you'll never have a problem during the winter - aside from crowds.
