Yippee I've just received my first Alpe d'Huez dump alert. Over a foot of the white stuff landed last night. After a week of looking at green slopes on the web cam I'm getting excited again. Roll on 10th January. :D

clairehb0, how did you get the dump alert?

(BTW I apologies for all the comments that are going to come back in response to the above line).

I am going to ADH on Jan 9th too so I am all excited about the snow. Have just seen the Marmottes webcam and it looks good.
Roll on Jan 9th.

Stew, I emailed me you J2 email that I get weekly for ADH. If you go to your profile, you put in ADH as your favourite resort and sign up for powder alerts and when there is a big snow fall, you get automatic notification.

Dont worry, I'll soon tell you when it happens!

Claire - there's a group of 8 of us going 9th Jan, where are you staying, and do you want to meet up and say hello over a beer?

Hi Stewart I signed up for the dump alert here http://www.alpedhueznet.com/dump_alert.php It was really exciting to get my first alert this morning.

Tony - would love to meet some J2skiers face to face. We are staying at Club Med which is in the Bergers area at the bottom of the Marmottes lift. I'm skiiing in a group too, 7 adults and 8 kids, hence Club Med who will look after the children for most of the week!

Oooh get you in the Club Med!!!
We are in a chalet right on the piste in Les Bergers so not far away. I beleive you get all inclusive drinks in your hotel....us peasants have to queue up in a bar!
I guess you are flying in via Turin seeing as you arrive Sunday? Beware the long transfer and the potentially horrific drive across the Col. We fly into Grenoble, which I understand has its own issues in terms of being an awful airport.
Be in touch nearer the time re meeting up.

Anyone would think we'd planned it, all in Les Bergers at the same time.

See you all the The Tiger bar (you can't miss it) on the Saturday.

We are flying into Grenoble too and driving ourselves. As long as we survive my husband driving the hairpins to get us up there I'll get a trayload of the inclusive drinks and sneak them out of the hotel! :-)
