Really really need some advice! Im planning on going to Verbier over Christmas week to visit my partner who works out there. I need accomodation near to the centre and just for me for that week. I can't afford much though. Anyone any ideas of cheap rooms or anything like that? Wouldnt mind being in a satelite village if they are loads cheaper, but dont ski...so bit concerned about how easily id be able to get to Verbier centre?
Argh! Help please!
Thanks!!!

If you don't mind commuting you could stay in Martigny (town at train station) - I'm guessing cheap accommodation can be found there (I stayed there a long time ago) but I'm not sure if it would work out cheaper with cost of bus up to Verbier each day plus it might be a pain to commute. Another place is Le Chable which is closer - from memory I think there is a train from Martigny up to Le Chable then a cable car from Le Chable to Verbier village.
If you find a good deal let me know! I'm looking for the same (single accommodation same week) but I want to ski so I want to be as close as possible to Verbier lift system.

In La Tzoumaz, the Hotel de la Poste has half-board, shared bathroom at CHF 75 /day but I don't know if that's too much for your budget?

Up the mountain, the Chez Simon restaurant also has rooms, shared for CHF 38 /day including food. and you're halfway up the slopes at a height of around 1850m You'd have to contact them and be prepared to share a room with 3-4 others, but the location is right up the mountain.

The Cabane du Mt.Fort is another high mountain hostel with stupendous views. Rates are CHF 92 /night but there may be discounts.
