Hi all, time to get back online as the snow has arrived!
I have booked for Saalbach Hinterglemm this year for a week beginning 30th Jan. I need to book ski school for 7 year old son and snowboard school for 11 year old daughter who wants to start snowboarding this year instead of skiing (I promised her if she could do a side slide on the back edge of her wakeboard she could learn how to snowboard - I did not think she could do it!!) I am now stuck with her wanting to snowboard
My question is this, there are two good ski/snowboard schools in Saalbach, can someone advise me on which one to choose? We are staying at Pension Enzian which is near the footbridge to the centre of town, I think.
Any advice on Saalbach would be appreciated as we have not been here efore.
I will also join the thread on the Zermatt trip for 2010 :P
thx
Carol

Hiya - exciting when the snow starts falling isn't it!
I spent a season in Saalbach but can't remember anything about the ski schools, have you tried googling them? As you may know, Saalbach is part of the 'ski circus' (bit like this forum really) which has masses of skiing, it can be done in a day from what I remember, assuming you aren't a beginner.
If Bobbys bar is still there, try their kebabs, they're yummy, especially after a couple of beers :D
That wasn't much help really was it?

I certainly hope so Tony, the circumstances of my rather pricey all inclusive spa resort (1 for the price of 2) December vacation are somewhat depressing :(

My mate skis Saalback every year. He took his eldest daughter last Jan and she said she has never skied such wide cruisy easy pistes, so I guess they would be ideal for learning to board.

There are about 5 ski schools in Saalbach, Furstauer are the best, their instructors take regular tests to check on their teaching standards unlike all the others. When you come down the hill from the Enzian, cross over the bridge to spar, take a right and they're on the left after the ski shop (opposite the kebab shop).
