My original plans for 2010 were a group trip to France in January and a late booking 'wherever the price took me' in March.
The group booking has failed miserably with 10 of the original party of 14 dropping out, so I am considering the options of either a 10 day trip to Canada/USA or 2 trips to the Alps/Pyrenees.
I have often read that 'all skiers must have at least one trip across the pond'.
Is it worth the extra cost and travel time for the 'American experience' and if so where is recommended ?
Any thoughts appreciated.
2 trips to Europe or 1 trip to USA/Canada

:DHi,
If you are looking at maybe doing the big hop across the pond ,take a look at Ski Miquel and their trips to Whistler very reasonable prices ,excellent food and great chalet staff.

:DMMMmmmmmm?
Mind you the two for one does sound a good thing though.....
......or how about a trip across the pond :thumbup:and then an end of season blast in the last two or three weeks of april when the prices are low (a lot of resorts will have half price lift passes for the last skiable week).

Let me think about this.
One trip or two.
Ok, decision made. Forget America. For now.
You know it makes sense.

I'd do two weeks in the U.S/Canada. Do it while the option is there.

Funny your comment about experiencing a trip across the pond. just came back from living in the US and they all dream of skiing in Europe. I suppose we always want what we cannot have.

www.fly.com, are showing real cheap deals at the mo for transatlantic flights, when i looked earlier it was saying £407 return, www.americanskiclassics.co.uk offer accom and transfer for c.£260 in winter park, plus expedia.co.uk have messed their system up and are currently offering 5 out of 6 day lift passes to winter park for £50! So for <£800 you've got a holiday inc lift pass to colorado, not bad i'd say!
