China

Hi all, totally ski unrelated, but if pablo can do it i can too! :mrgreen:

As i mentioned somewhere i am off to china! Well i'm in china and have been since tuesday morning (monday night for UK)

It's a trip i've come on with my school 6th form and its a massive summer school for UK and US students!

As expected there's a massive emphasis on swine flu and thus far i think 4 or 5 students on the camp have been confirmed cases. Yesterday, (friday) our school was placed in quarantine! It's all very frustrating because nobody in our school has the flu or signs of it! We have been moved to a hotel run by the government for exactly these reasons, its near to the airport so many people who have flown in and are in contact with swine flu are here aswell! Fortunatly though we have had some time to visit a few places, The birds nest, 798 art district, Beijing zoo, tiananmen square and the great wall.

I will upload a few photos on here just for something to pass my time by..........

Wow, big trip for you, what a shame that the authorities there are paranoid about the pig flu :(

Love the Panda photos :D the Great Wall looks a bit damp and cold, was it? Were you nervous going into Tiananmen Square?

What a shame have just seen it on the news. I work in front line treatment for swine flu, so I know how its going over here. I suspect that if the pandemic gets a lot worse, the next phase would be to cancel flights and large public gatherings. I do hope not though.

I do believe there is some skiing in china so there we go!

Pretty sure China has some of the highest lifts in the world.
