How much do you think youd be willing to pay for a professionally filmed and edited film of yourself skiing thats about 15m long?

Theres a place in Japan that does it over course of a day but not sure...its quite good quality but thinking it's a bit of a rip-off to be honest (bout £180 for the film) what does everyone think? Shall I give it a shout?

Thanks very much for your help! Legends of the snow, I bow to thee...

If I had £180 to burn I'd do it. Looks fairly decent quality but I'd want a song of my choice and it edited to that.

Welcome to J2Ski Davey,

I could not download the sample, apparently I have the wrong kind of Java, cheeky devils! However, if Pablo credits the quality, and you yourself like it, the only question is one of value.

For 15 min of filming, I guess there would have to be at least a couple of hours on the slopes. Add to that another hour of preparation, getting to and from, gondola time, discussion, paperwork.

Editing plus sound, say two hours if you are really slick. Half an hours admin. So 5/6 hours.

A service like this, say minimum £30 an hour.

Conclusion, the costing seems fair.

But if Pabs takes the view that the music needs some attention, then take note. I would have Jimi Hendrix meself. Or, if you want a regal note, "March of the Hebrew Slaves" froms Verdi's Nebucca.

Whatever music you choose, get it fired into your brain, and ski to the rhythm of it. That would not only simplify the editing, but the results would be much more effective. Nebucco would be a great one to ski to.

Ski well.

On the youtube vid, it looks as if the photographer sets up a lot of the shots, and knows good places to film. That would make a huge difference to the value of the service.

because I'm so inclined .....

Use the £180 and put it towards a half decent vid camera, get yourself an imac computer and you can edit to a good quality on imovie if you have the time and the inclination, I never thought of that as a business opportunity could be a niche in the EU market, perhaps I may get to live abroad after all...
