So i popped down to snow and rock in covent garden today to get some new boots, after all the measuring etc he told me that i should definatley go for a salamon boot, and sugested specifically the impact 10...although they have non left... once i get them he suggested coming in and getting custom foot beds.

im a bit nervous about doing this, although he was very adimate that these were the boots for me

does this sound strange?

BTW i have never had any real problems with rented boots...

It's not strange, as a decent bootfitter will look at the shape of your feet, and will know which model and boot will be right.

You could always get a 2nd opinion from one of their major competitors )

Edit:

You really should get a shell check done, with your feet examined in the empty shell, before you part with any money.

The Aussie here again, I also rented boots for 2 years and finally bit the bullet
and purchased some Rossignol boots. Once a pair fits as perfect as possible, buy that boot
and break it in to your own feet's contours. All you chatters sound asleep i guess??

It's 10.30am and daylight saving is over. Bring on winter !
I ski Buller, last 2 years and this year will drive the extra hour to
Hotham or Falls Creek.

Morning fella, good to see J2ski has coverage as far away as Aus, i'll be interested in your reports from your forth coming winter, I hope you have plenty of snow to take away
the disappointment of your forthcoming ashes thrashing, Bon Ski :D :D

Oh, my Italian roots do not get me that excited about the sport of
Mad dogs and Englishman.
True, my countrymen here are more looking forward
to the Ashes Tour. Football, now thats my cup of tea.
Will advise of our winter follies when it hits. Our Queen's Birthday weekend
June 9th is our official start to snow season.
