Left home for Bristol airport at 1pm for a 4pm flight idea was to be there and checked in by 2 at the latest and go sit in the restaurant up stairs and have some lunch. This all happened to plan, so far all good.
Unfortuantly someone stole my car but decided to park it in the departures lounge!

Plane ended up leaving Bristol an hour late so we left at 5. We then get above Chambery only to be told we'll have to circle as its too windy to land at the mo and we can only land from one direction in the night cos of the valley!
Roughly an hour later we're told we can't land at chambery so have been diverted to Lyon! Great! So we land at Lyon then sit on the plane for an hour! Then when we get off all our buses etc are in chambery and coming on up to lyon!

lyon airport/train station in the night, just visible.
After about an hour we get on a 50/60 seater bus with 5 others making 10 of us them headed to Alpe D'huez us to LDA. We drop them off at Bourg D'Oisans and by about 1am we arrive at our chalet, Chalet Alice which we booked through Skiworld!
Our Chalet hosts and resort rep had both stayed up and we got some baguettes with the left over meat from the evening meal which was good!
The snow was excellent when we arrived as they'd "had a dump" during the week previous so it was still nice for us!

view from the les cretes area of les deux alpes, down towards the village direction
The lift ques were no where near as hurrendous as i was expecting with it being france and half term max of a couple of a few minutes on average!
I think the area had just about enough for a weeks skiing, if i were to go again i'd make use of the free days available in other resorts such as Alpe D'Huez, serre chevallier and montgenevre but for this week it was fine.
I went with my family, parents and two brothers (8 and 13) plus my friends family who also have 3 kids (18,16 and 14)
The 16 and 18 years both had their birthdays there aswell as my mum who had her birthday so was a good week for all!
By the end of the week it was becoming apparant new snow was needed as a few spots were getting a lil icy etc.
The big plus to the holiday was the chalet. Our hosts John and Sarah were excellent and very helpful and also the chalets position was excellent, two minute walk to the village drag lifts about 3-4 minutes to the main gondolas, but the best part was it was possible to ski back right to the boot room door, off piste.

The view of our chalet on the way down offpiste. Chalet alice is the one central to the photo with a snow covered roof left of the hotel
Les Deux Alpes is very much a town as opposed to a village, therefore its not the best looking but has lots of handy conveniences.
There's lots of nice views from high up this next photo was looking towards the drop down to venosc one morning

And finally a picture of me taking by profesionals they had on some jumps

Overall a very enjoyable had by all and wouldn't hesitate in recomending the resort!
