Last week I saw something I had never seen before. A snowboarder coming down the slopes........with ski poles :shock:

Yes I enjoyed snow-shoeing but found some walks exhausting. Must get fitter for next year would like to do a lot more

A lot of snowboarders use them for touring/hiking etc...?

Remember talking bout touring bindings in a thread the other week? You can get a snowboard that splits in 2 with special bindings to the same effect. When they have 'skinned' up the hill in skiing style they can clip their board back together and go down sideyways. Poles are pretty essential to 'touring' or 'skinning' regardless of the method chosen.
A lot of snow-shoeing goes on here, Rose, I imagine you would like it!

There is cross country skiing also which is something I would like to try :roll:

There was me hoping someone had inserted them in a body cavity in penance for sitting in the middle of the piste and he was returning them!
