Hi,
I'm new to this forum, so I hope this works :-)
I'm trying to arrange a long weekend break to Avoriaz It will be for 3 nights arriving on Friday 6th March and departing on Monday 9th March.
Unfortunately I can't be flexible on these dates. I have made numerous calls but they will only accept a weeks booking.
So my question is, does anyone know if I can do a 3 night break for those dates, and if so where in Avoriaz.
I will keep my fingers crossed :)
Simon
Avoriaz weekend break in March

Have to agree there, we just picked up a good deal by waiting till 10 days before - and now the hotels that were not interested 4 weeks ago are suddenly emailing us frantically to see if we are interested in a short stay booking ! We got the hotel we originally wanted and about £200 LESS than we were expecting to pay for a 4 night stay.
That week is not half term or Easter so maybe worth taking a gamble and waiting....
Dave.

Hi Simon
I can only suggest searching with Expedia or Hotels.Co.Uk to identify places that accepts short-stay bookings. It obviously depends on your budget but hotels are more likely to accept but are pricey. Expedia I noticed had a hotel for £200+ per night - I wouldn't pay it but perhaps that's not a problem for you.
Hotels.co.uk have reasonable rates for places a little (15 miles) outside of Avoriaz. If that is no good I suggest waiting until a week or two before when hoteliers are starting to panic - I bet they'll be accepting short stay bookings then. Also try some of the French companies - I used Pierre et Vaccances (in La Plagne) this year and was pretty happy with them. They offer short stay in off-peak periods (January and late March) but again I bet they change their mind when business is slow!

Cost up a week then, but accommodation only. It can be really really cheap in Avoriaz in many of their apartmetns plus usually the cost of 3 or 4 days isn't much different than a week. Then book a cheapy flight independantly and hire a car or get bus/taxi etc. Transfers quite long, but you could easily drive it or bus it. Then you can be flexible for the 3 days and wouldn't cost any more than a 3 day package which is usually impossible to find. That's what we did anyway a few years ago.
Try Hotel Viking in Morzine. It's actually at the top of the Morzine lift, which is at the bottom of Avoriaz. Might rent you a room independantly??
