Can any one advise on the similarity (or not) of runs in Mayrhofen & Niederau. ie Are the Red 19 or 23 in Niederau like any of the runs in Mayrhofen, in terms of difficulty/ or ease depending on your point of view.
Was in Niederau last season and going to Mayrhofen on the 17th Jan for 2 weeks, (can't wait :D :D :D).
Just trying to get a feel for the place before we go.

If you wait long enough there will be quite a few persons who will add their tuppence worth on your subject matter.
Have a great holiday I do not depart for snow till the 23rd.

The 2 places are nothing alike at all and should never ever be compared again.
They should both be assessed on their own merits, which I believe has been done on this forum a few times.
Niederau is a tiny ski resort with only a small number of runs, most of which are in the shade all day, and at a fairly low altitude.
Mayrhofen has a much larger area to ski, albeit a long gondola ride up from the low valley, and the majority of the area is in the sun.
You will find the reds in mayrhofen generally wide, although fairly challenging in a number of asepcts.
The best runs are red 7 on Horberg, red 1 and 11 first thing in the morning if you get first lift up at 8.15am, the long red down the back to Finkenburg (Katzenmoos chair), the Ebbenwald and Abfahrt on the Ahorn, and the reds over at Eggalm which are almost deserted most of the time.
Have a great time.
