Hi all, I've been reading the forum for a while now but I've just signed up so thought I would introduce myself and let you all know where I am with my skiing.
Last Valentines Day my girlsfriend bought me a "Taster Ski Lesson" at Chill Factore in Manchester. I had never even seen a pair of skis other than on TV before then. It was the best present I have ever had! It was only a half hour session of sliding down a nursery slope, not being able to turn or even stop but I was hooked.
I immediatley got myself on a 6 hour lesson and I've been going about twice a month since March. I'm now a very confident skier on the very limited indoor slope.
I have my first ski holiday at the end of February, I'm going to Bansko with the girlfriend and I really can't wait!
Once I get back I'm going to be going to learn how to do some freestyle stuff at the Salomon GROM Camps. I was going to do it before I went to Bulgaria but I didn't want to risk breaking any bones before I got there!
So any advice out there for a beginnner, any tips for Bansko (not reviews, I've read all the good and bad on here) or anyone who can offer advice freestyle skiing it would be great to hear from you!
Dave :)

Welcome to the forum. This skiing ain't alf addictive isn't it? You'll find plenty of advice on here. Maybe not from me as I'm only in my 3rd season.
Having done your lessons at home you should be well on your way to enjoying the real slopes. Enjoy Bansko and enjoy your skiing

First off, welcome to the site! I'm very much a beginner myself, So far myself and my girlfriend have completed our gaurantee to ski course and our working on our snow plow turns. We're off on our first ski holiday on Sunday to St Anton. From what i can make out on here your first ski trip is fantastic and not to be forgotten! I'm very much like you and am already completely hooked to skiing so cannot wait!!!!
In terms of advice there are many people on here that can offer tons of useful hints and tips! (TonyH for one!). My one though, Definately go to a ski school. If you can afford it private lessons, but they are mightily expensive. But apparently from everything i've been told they will bring your skiing techniques and competacny on leaps and bounds!!!!
Have a great trip when you go!!! I'll be writing my reports on my first ski trip on here after the 10th of Jan, But I CANNOT WAIT!!!!!! :D
