I was on the Snow+Rock website
(just looking at prices of ski boots because I'd like to buy boots in the resort when I go in 12 days :D!! I don't intend buying boots online!!)
But I'm just wondering what's the difference in these boots.....??
Both Salomon Idol 8 but one is £157 and the other £224

Ski Boots Idol 8 Was: £229.95
Save: £72.41
Now: £157.54
Salomon's Idol 8 replaces the much-loved Rush 8 of last year, and it outshines the latter by far, delivering a perfect mix of comfort and performance, to add smoothness and power to your skiing. Salomon's Custom Fit Sport liner features sections of heat-mouldable foam to provide a superbly close fit for each individual foot, complemented by the Second Skin shell and Second Skin last. The Idol 8 benefits from an adjustable spoiler to accommodate a women's calf, providing greater comfort and control, while its integrated heel wedge helps to provide a better grip on a thinner heel. Ideal for athletic female skiers, this boot has an understated, stealth look that will easily go with most ski outfits and ski designs. Features: Spaceframe Shell Profile / Advanced Chassis / Energyzer / Power Strap / Custom Fit Sport Liner / Titanium Buckles / Second Skin Shell / Second Skin Last.

IDOL 8 Was: £229.00
Save: £4.88
Now: £224.12
The Salomon Idol 8 delivers a perfect mix of comfort and performance to add smoothness and power to your skiing. Salomon have taken the Idol 8 and refined it further for this year by developing the Liner, increasing the toe box area of the boot for maximum comfort and warmth, and softening the calf area to facilitate easier entry and greater all day comfort. The Custom Fit Sport liner also features sections of heat-mouldable foam to provide a superbly close fit for each individual foot, and it is complemented by the Second Skin shell and Second Skin last, which use different thicknesses of plastic in different areas of the boot for lightness and balanced energy transmission. The Idol 8 benefits from an adjustable spoiler to accommodate a woman's calf, providing greater comfort and control, while its integrated heel wedge helps to provide a better grip on a narrower heel. Ideal for athletic female skiers, this boot has an understated, stealth look and was one our biggest selling boots last year. Features: Spaceframe Shell Profile** / Advanced Shell Technology** / Energyzer** / Power Strap** / Custom Fit Sport Liner** / Titanium Buckles / Second Skin Shell / Second Skin Last/ Adjustable spoiler. (** see www.salomonsports.com for more details). PERFORMANCE LEVEL 5 - 8/10.

Admin: Suggestion.

Why dont you have a section on the forums about specific clothing/equipment, how to buy, important things to consider etc?

There are so many posts on here about wanting new boots and what brand/colour people should have. The answers are always the same....

Just a thought.... 8)

I would assume that one is last years Idol 8 and one is this years - there isn't much difference, but as S & R seem to have the same photo for both boots it's kind of hard to tell.
From memory the main difference is that this years has longer buckles or 'extended levers' as Salomon call it, but I could be wrong, I cant find a picture of last years boot at the minute.

edit: Nope - I'm wrong. From looking at last years Salomon Image cd I dont think there is any difference between this years and last years boot. Not being much help here, am I? :D
