This seems a pretty good forum with loads of knowledgeable people so please let me have your advice!
Lad (20 yrs old/intermediate)& dad (bit older/beginner/intermediate but fit!) want to go skiing in a couple of weeks time.
Requirements:
1. Snow!
2. Bit of night life
3. No 'club' hotels please!
4. Europe
We went to Les Sybelles last Easter - great skiing, rubbish club hotel, night life not much better.
Will all the resorts have runs open week beginning December 13?
What do you know?

Hitertux and Mayrhofen (15kms apart and joined by bus), glacier and cracking nightlife.

I'll be in Tignes that week, can't think of many places I'd rather be early season.
You shouldn't have to worry about snow, the weekend saw a mega dump and there's more on the way. Freezing level also staying low, so looking good.

Was in Tignes and Val d'Isere the same week last year, fantastic, still quiet, no big queues and fantastic conditions!!! Loved it. Very British resorts mind.

I believe it's the World Cup weekend in Val d'Isere that weekend, so good nightlife assured, and snow should be good with most lifts open.

Last year I was in Val D'Isere the week before, a silly amount of snow fell but was accompanied by a lift closing gale. Lots of extreme lunching going on! Would have loved to have stayed on another week!

Try Lech - also gives you access to Zurs and St Anton. Theres about 150cms of snow there at the mo.
