Hey
had a bit of a nightmare last year with Lift passes in Grandvaleria due to not booking before i left after bad advice from my travel agent. This year im going to the SkiWelt and am looking for the best place to buy them before i go
i have been quoted £130 in advance for the 6 days from my travel agent or i think 182 euros when i get out there
are there any other places to get them?
thanks

Every year I book and pay for my lift passes on line, and collect at an agreed point normally the tourist office,
works for me.

Cost depends when you are going, and if you want the Kitzbuhle pass. Check out:
http://www.skiwelt.at/index.php?l=en&flash=&s=&nID=x47c7b6a3302fd4.01537063
Mid january for 6 days shows 181.5 Euros.
Ian, which site do you use for pre-booking passes?

Dave, the last five years we have skied Le grand bornand it's a great area but we return mainly due to the brilliant esf ski school who have been teaching my daughter since the age of three.
So i book direct with the tourist office in resort ( you can send photo's as part of the booking process ) and collect on our way through resort to our accommodation. No queues and they have never let us down.

Sorry Ian, I misunderstood. I thought that you bought on the net.
In general, it has been the case that you can still book with the TO when you are on the transfer bus.
However, trying to look behind the minds of the TOs, now that the £ is in decline against the Euro, they may just withdraw this facility.
Just to make the decision process a little easier:
Check the 6 day pass cost on the local toursit office website. In this case 181.5Euros
Look at your tour operator lift pass cost. In this case £130.
Divide 181.5 by 130. You would need to get 1.4 Euros to the £. Do you see that happening?
Two other aspects ~ Check what you are getting for your £130 offer, In this case, is it a kitzbuhle pass as well? (most unlikely, but worth checking), also, ~ consider that when booking with the TO, you don't have to queue at the lift office.

I think your right Dave at present the deal would be to book with the tour operator as i can't see a 1.4 exchange rate this winter.
Be prepared for an expensive winter,
