Although I love(d) skiing, skied since I was 3 (that was 1970/71), there was a time not that long ago that I had written it off, figured I would probably never ski again. It is expensive and it had been years since I had skied last. But now my wife has graduated with her bachelors degree in education. We'll be able to afford to ski again. :D
With my decision this summer to get back into skiing, I am getting more and more anxious every day. I have got my clothes, got a great deal on some "Spyder" gear, pants and jacket, still need to get Skis. I am so excited to get back on the slopes I am beside myself. I had tried to not think about skiing, when I thought I would never ski again. It almost brings me to tears remembering all the great times I had skiing and thinking about being on the slopes again. I will also be teaching my son (15) and daughter (12).
I don't have a lot of friends that ski and that I can share this with and my family is getting tired of hearing about it, I just need to talk about it so I don't go crazy waiting.
Thanks,
Brad

No disrespect, but things have changed a lot in the last few years. You might need an update yourself.
Anyway, hope your wife finds ISDs that are not cutting budgets.

Where do you plan to go skiing?
I have purchased a seasons pass to "White Pass" In Washington State, I will be skiing there mostly. After a couple years years I will start hitting other local areas but I think I will keep buying a WP season pass for the foreseeable future (Only $309 this year when bought b4 May 31).
I realize that. I plan on skiing at least 4-5 times before starting to teach my oldest. I figure that will be enough time to get used to the new skis etc... If I feel I need a lesson myself I'll probably take one but I was a very good skier in the past. During lessons I took while in high school I was in the top class, my instructor told me I could probably be an instructor, never followed that up though.
Thanks,
Brad
Start practicing - on the carpet  or maybe you'll breakdown and have to take a drive to Mount Hood.

seems pretty cool :?: I'm sure you'll benefit from a few lessons to kick off with and it won't take too long for it to all come flooding back. Took me 2 days and i'd not skied for 13 years previously so i'm sure you'll be fine.
White Pass looks pretty cool though, 350inch average snow fall isn't too shabby either, keep us europeans updated with lots of pics :D

I would have got away with it if it wasn't for those pesky kids!
