My hubby loves snow sports as much as I do, but only talks about it about a month before we go, a month after and Jan/Feb when we decide and book on next years hols. He may buy the occasional bargain jacket/boots etc through the summer, but thats about it. Unlike me probably every single day.
This morning we did about two hours over the allotment, much too hot to do any-more. Our patch is at the top of the hill, he,s leaning on his spade, calls me over and says 'do you realise if we had snow here all down this hill, over the humps, sharp right, then sharp left and back down the gentle slope all the way to the gates, which are right out the front of our house, we could have our own ski-in ski-out'. Then he stuck me in the wheelbarrow and hurtled down the length of the 'slope', to prove it could be done.
I have visions of next winter gardening in salopettes and ski boots, hurtling back down the hill home, no poles needed just a fork and spade in each hand.
I can dream, just not sure if we will ever have enough snow here

Hmmm, he's addicted alright. One option would be to lay some Dendix or Snowflex.....then there's the uplift to consider 8)

Bournemouth has a good beach, you can't have it all..or can you? )

Bournemouth does have good beaches, but nowadays you have to make your way through the tramps, wino's and addicts who seem to live on the beach. Or while you are down there they will break into your car. So I think its only fair we have our own little ski slope

Rose,
I have to "confess" that I did build a ski slope or run in my back yard several years ago! Everyday after school my children would ski for 3 hours till it was too dark.

I had a carriage house several meters from house and so I slowly built up slope till it was to roof!

I finally had to install lights since other children were now skiing until 9 PM!!!

I finally had to put my boots down since adults were coming over, "just to try run"!!!!

Yes we are fanatic and ,,,,proud to be!!!

Respectfully,

That sounds wonderful, but our chances of snow are so slim. Any-one got any snow making canons lurking around in their garages?

I've spent this morning with my sister sorting out her wedding for christmas eve 2009. She wants a snow making machine on the terrace and I've asked her not to because it'd make me want to ski. I don't think that'd look so great in a cocktail dress!

I think she's getting one regardless, it's her day, got to contain the feelings........
