I just booked the Ferry for the school hols for the 5 of us for £535, booked through quidco so I might get £20 back if I am lucky. WE have decided to take the car so sailing from Ncl to Ams then drive to Niederau (just how do you say that?)
Just waiting for the lady from the accomodation to get back to me to pay for the apartments and then we are halfway there.
Do you think I should book the skischool now or wait till later? does anyone know if the kids (age 8 & 10) will be in the skischool that is in the failrytal village or will they just be on the beginners slopes? do you think hubby will be able to see them (as he will be in ski school too) or are the ski schools too far apart?
any ideas for the best price on bog standard boot and ski hire? is it best to book before I go? Also lift passes. I cant really see us venturing further than niederau, do we have to buy a wildenschou lift pass or do they do a cheaper local one?
Thanks in advance. lots more questions to come
Karen

Well done with the booking.
Ski School. Standard opinion among J2Skiers is strongly in favour of the Red ski school. I would make contact just now, although I don't know if they man the emails in summer. The email address is: ski.schule@tirol.com, tel no 05339 2200. You can let them know your requirements. The first day nursery area is normally all in one area, so the classes will normally be in one of three adjacent fields. As has been said before, you talk to the childrens' instructor, and make arrangements as to where they will be at lunch/finishing time.
Lift pass ~ the ski school or instructor will advise on your requirements. There is only one wildschoenau pass, but you are unlikely to go out of Niederau for skiing, unless there is a weather reason to go to Auffach.
Your accomodation should provide you with a visitor card and this will get you access to the ski-bus.
Why don't you ask the ski school if there is a combi price for school/pass/skihire?
Note, there is an Austrian tax of 1 Euro pp per day, although this may have been included in your apartment cost.

thanks for the advice Dave. We are booked at the Alpehof and I have emailed a couple ski schools to no avail. They must not be manned like you say.
I will definitley ask if they do a combined lift pass and ski hire.
I am so excited now. I hope the family enjoy it cause I am already thinking about Feb 10 lol. I will take the kids out of school though
