Hi
I'm flying off to the slopes with EasyJet next month and i'm taking all my own ski-ing equipment. And as this is my first time flying with my own skis/boots i was wondering if anyone could let me know what the normal procedure is - Especially with EasyJet....
Thanks :)

With Easyjet you pay £15 each way for ski carriage. This increases your baggage allowance by 12kg. I think it also includes boot bags so you don't have to pay the £3.99 hold baggage charge on the boots.

you need to pre book your ski's or your not guaranteed they will carry them depending on how full the plane is also they are very strict on weight allowance we had 9 people in are group under 1 booking would not let us share the weight allowance over the group as normal so a few of us got charged excess for even been 2kg over! check in staff at liverpool we're very rude and un-helpfull but just the opposite from the flight crew whick couldn't do enough for you

From experience, I would also add that there is no hard and fast rule. Sometimes they let you split the allowance between the group, other times its pay for every ounce over. I guess it depends on the staff, airport, time of day/month etc.
However, I would agree with the others - prebook or run the risk of not taking your stuff.
Also, some of their flights are no more budget than anyone elses these days, what with their baggage charges etc. I booked a flight to Turin from Manchester yesterday with First Choice - £70 return, including meals and 20kg baggage. Last minute I know, but Easyjet to Turin was about £240!!!!

I travel easyjet Edinburgh ~ Munich several times a year. Always get my boots inside my Rucsac, and come in at 18Kgms, including a coupl of kilos painting kit. Ski bag weighs 7 Kgms incl. a few tools.
However, I have now left a pair of skis in Austria, so can travel lighter now.
Will hire in other places.
As an aside, can anyone help with ski hire shop info for Saas Fee. Which is the closest to Hotel Christiana?
