Start very small. Suck your legs up a little as you crest a small knoll. Straighten them a little to touch back down. Then absorb the landing.

Stay centred on the skis. Don't get in the back seat.

Do this a lot on very small stuff. You'll notice you are getting more air, confidence and feel for landing. I don't think you can get some tips and go out and hit a kicker.

Always look for a landing that slopes away (why knolls are perfect). Landing on flat ground is jarring.

Take a good look around when on the hill. There are always natural hits you can use :D

The landing's can* be a lot softer than in the park!

well let me rephrase that, when i used the word park, i really meant the slopes, my bad for any confusion caused, i have 2 extra problems when it comes to my original questions, i have fairly weak knees and my right achiles tendon was severely torn and hasn't healed right so landing on it hurts more than it normally should, and secondly, i ride Elan Flows 8.1 they are heavy skis for their length they are also thick, so they are not really easy to balance in the air.

All the more reason to start small. The skis should not be an issue. They are a pretty generic all round/carving ski. With your leg problems, I would suggest a low binding release setting.

May I suggest that you have the binding fit checked professionally, as what you write may imply that there is too much space for your boot between the toe and heel piece. It should not be possible to "walk out" of a binding properly set.
