Hey! Just wondering what the ski passes in La Clusaz are physically like? Do they have your photo on them or are they just an electronic card you put in your pocket? Do I need to bring that extendable lift pass holder that you clip on to your jacket?
Also, has anyone done snowshoeing in La Clusaz or even elsewhere? Could you tell me what shoes you wear when going snowshoeing? Do you wear your own shoes with something attached?
Thanks!

When I went last January, they were stickers attached to a wire that you wore on the outside of you jacket...They were the ones that folded back on themselves and were made of a waterproof plastic, so you have to put the wire through a zip or something to secure to your jacket. It may have changed tho as this seems to be an antiquated system these days! Didn`t snow show I`m afraid, so no advice there! Have Fun, Jo
A bad day on the slopes is better than a good day in the office !

Ah yes, I know the ones! Thanks! It does seem to be a slightly out of date system given the fancy technology some of the resorts are using!

Hi Lisapeep,
Yes they are still the old-style photo passes for 3-days or more and the self-adhesive wrap around type for 1-2 days. I kind of like the photo-style cards though, as they are a good reminder of how bad your hair looked when you skied a certain resort when looked back at in years to come!
I'd recommend a good pair of waterproof hiking boots with some form of ankle protection for snowshoeing with salopettes or gaiters if walking through deep snow - which you may need if you're going to walk at Confins or Beauregard in the next week or so, judging by the J2Ski weather forecast for the coming week! :D There are special snowshoe maps available from the tourist info, or you can join an organised walk if your french is up to it?
Have fun in La Clusaz!

Do you know Graviteski if you can rent snowshoes cheap enough in la Clusaz? We don't intend on snow shoeing but the chalet we are staying in is a private one with a half mile walk to and from every day. If its heavy snow it will be a bit of a nightmare to walk in so it might be an idea to get some.
Thanks again for the contact for my friend but by the time he got round to it everyone seems to be full up. He has got somewhere in the end but its costing hima fortune!
