We were planning a sneaky trip to Tignes in late April but we can't get the dates to work.
My new plan is to fly to Salzburg in mid-ish April as it's a nice flight from near by Bournemouth.
Thinking about Obertauern as it's within an hour of Salzburg and their website makes it easy to organise transfers. Also it's quite high so perhaps good for late season.
Anybody got any other gems of wisdom they might want to let me in on?

oops  I can hear Michael O'Leary dialling the number of his lawyers right now :P
Its all down to personal experience, as I have never had a problem with Ryanair, other than a short delay and a not particularly tidy aircraft, but thats what you get in this age of cheap flights.
Skiing on the Vialattea is great - so much variety, and Sauze is a good fun place to go. Montgenevre seems to be a place only for people called Giles, Jamima and Tiggy with incomes in excess of £1m per annum, but its good for a day trip for the skiing.
I guess for a short break, it has to be a short flight, and a short transfer to maximise time on the slopes, so your suggestion seems a good one.

You can get return flights to Geneva from Gatwick for £72pp for one of those weekends in Tignes.
Easyjets summer timetable isnt out yet, but you should get something at a decent price when it does.
£79 for a weekend fully catered......cant beat it!

I'm stuck on the dates. The girlfriends bosses daughter is expecting a baby or something  just at the time of the Tignes deal so we need to find something late March early April now.
Plus I was promissed an Atomic door matt if we returned for the late April deal!

if ur not worried about resort
would suggest http://www.flexiblebreaks.com/
been with 3 times now
book ur own Ryanair flights and they pick u up
3 night min stay Mongenevre and Sauze D'oulx
whats good is you can get a 7.30 eve flight thur
ski all day sun and get the rtn to Stanstead that land around midnight - only downside is that Ryanair are [probably] the worlds worst airline
worth a try

I have had a ski holiday at Obertauen. I can recommend it as an excellent venue. The skiing is convenient, Obertauen has a good, long season, snow record and there are plenty of runs - more than enough for a short break. It is less attractive than most Austrian resorts but, compares favourably, on that count, with Tignes needless to say.
